PATTERN RELEASE: Tunisian Shell Shawl and a New CAL!

Ready for a new Tunisian crochet shawl? Have a look at Tunisian Shell Shawl, a quick and glamorous project.

The simple and very addictive shell stitch pattern does not require a special Tunisian hook. Just a regular crochet hook is all you will need!

The pattern includes three layout diagrams, which show different color and wave variations:

• one-row waves 
• two-row waves 
• and a combo of the first two variations. 

The possibilities are, in fact, endless, because each shell element of the shawl can be worked in a new color. This stitch pattern also looks great in thicker or thinner yarn than suggested.

PATTERN RELEASE: Sunset Echo Shawl

Even after so many years of crocheting, the magic of turning yarn into a finished piece does not stop to amaze me... 

My January design, Sunset Echo shawl...

...made from these balls of yarn, a mix of alpaca, merino and nylon on cone in fingering weight:

Crocheting this shawl was so relaxing and the colors were so soft, that I had to fight the urge to continue adding more motifs to it even after I had reached the desired size. It turned out so large and cozy!

This design combines two popular craft ideas: crochet granny squares (what can be more popular in crochet?) and patchwork quilts.

Working on the actual pattern instructions was breathtakingly interesting too and I couldn't resist including six additional templates: Diamonds, Peacock, Lapland, Gypsy, Rainbow and City Neons (love them all!).
